My new Carp setup
My new Carp setup for 2017 is my single rod dedicated Carp setup
Keeping in the “Keep it small and compact” method i have for my fishing gear, I bought the Nash H-Gun Dwarf 6ft 3lb rod, A single Fox Micron + bite alarm & Carp based quick release end tackle & a second hand BR reel from Ebay in good nick with Shimano Technium INVISITEC line 10lb.
My idea fro pleasure fishing in 2017 is to set this Carp focused rig up as one of my 2 rod options, the other being my favorite float fishing setup, cast out my bait with PVA bag add-on and leave it do its thing while I have fun float fishing.
Well over the last few weeks I have struggled with the cold weather float fishing as the fish were off and not playing ball, but…., a couple of fellow club members had the typical multi rod full on Carp gear setups going on and to their credit catching fish, eventually. Hard for them to but still catching more that I did.
So I thought I have the Nash rod in the shed not getting any action as was leaving it for Carp stalking in the summer, and still will, and thought that with a small investment, around £60, for the extra bits to set it up as a dedicated alarm laden Carp rig, I could easily setup, cast out and forget it, while trying to tempt my beloved Roach, Perch and Bream with my float setup.
So expect pictures soon on how I get on with the new pleasure fishing setup and I will give the rod and bite alarm full reviews once I have some hours fishing with them under my belt and please feel free to leave a comment below about your experiences with this products or and tips and advise you might, god knows I need it 😉
Wishing you tight lines
|What NASH say:
“Brilliant for the dedicated stalker, opportunist carper or even holiday anglers these pair of Dwarf six-footers can handle powerful fish on strong tackle, yet pack down to a minuscule 29 inches (74cm) thanks to the patented retractable butt section.
High modulus carbon blanks are finished with full duplon handles, keeper seat and 25 to 15mm ringing, now with the choice of 2lb and 3lb options to suit a wider variety of opportunities.
The baby brother to the popular 3lb Dwarf six-footer, the 2lb model is the ideal tool for stalking and close quarters carp and specialist work, but forgiving and sensitive enough for lighter tackle, float fishing and even lure work.”
|What Fox Say:
The Micron M+ is the first to benefit from a whole host of new features. Immediately you’ll notice its classic Fox Micron look, with a raised 5mm red LED. It’s powered by 2 x AAA batteries, which coupled with new internal circuitry, offers an extra long battery life. It has an indexed front volume adjustment knob that’s easy to use. The M+ has a piezo speaker for clear audible indication of a run, with robust rubber inlays in the ‘ears’ to prevent rod slippage. There are also 2 outputs: one for power out, and one for transmitter out. This has to be one of the best alarms for the money ever!
